1. Project Planning and Coordination: The engineer is responsible for planning the erection process of substations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination with other teams and stakeholders involved in the project.

2. Site Survey and Preparation: Conducting site surveys to assess the location for the substation installation, determining the requirements for site preparation, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

3. Equipment Selection and Procurement: Selecting appropriate equipment and materials required for substation erection, preparing specifications, and coordinating procurement activities with vendors and suppliers.

4. Installation Supervision: Overseeing the installation of electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and control systems in the substation, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.

5. Quality Assurance and Control: Implementing quality control measures to ensure that all installation work meets industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. Conducting inspections and tests to verify the functionality and performance of installed equipment.

6. Safety Compliance: Enforcing safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for the erection team. Providing training and guidance on safety practices and equipment handling.

7. Technical Support: Providing technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance to resolve any issues or challenges encountered during the erection process, collaborating with engineering teams and contractors to find solutions.

8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed records of project activities, including installation progress, material usage, testing results, and any deviations from the original plan. Generating reports for project managers and stakeholders.

9. Commissioning Support: Assisting in the commissioning phase of the substation, conducting tests and inspections to verify proper functionality and performance before handover to the client or utility company.

10. Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement in substation erection practices, incorporating lessons learned from previous projects to optimize future installations.
